Beyond | a new café in Wanchai

Sitting above the main streets of Wanchai, Beyond is a café that has newly opened its doors in the neighborhood.

Cafés serving quality cups of coffee have been popping up all over Wanchai. But some of these places are takeaway only and others don't have much table space. With Hong Kong summer weather just around the corner, it's nice to have some space and strong air conditioning while you sit down for a chat with friends, read a book, or do a bit of work on your laptop. Beyond is a place worth a visit if you're looking for a clean, spacious café to enjoy a cup of afternoon coffee with a slice of cake.

The look and feel of this coffee shop is bright, modern and minimalistic with shades of off-white, beige wood tones, and gold to make it pop.

Swipe right for the drinks menu. There is also a selection of cakes and sweets at the counter. Beyond does not have a separate food menu.

This cup of iced americano ($40HKD) was very well balanced, starting with a nutty flavor but ending with a bit of sweetness and a hint of berries. Their beans are from Craft Coffee Roasters, a Hong Kong based craft coffee roastery. I'd come back just for the coffee!

If you've read up to here and are keen to visit Beyond, easiest way to find it is to turn into Amoy street (next to Lee Tung Avenue in Wanchai), and to the right of a shop called "Thaiwan" there is an entrance to the "Hundred City Centre" building. Take the commercial lift up to the second floor and you'll see the entrance pictured here. Enjoy!
