HAIKA Coffee | an outdoor concept café in Cheung Chau

Hop off the ferry at Cheung Chau Pier, and within 3 minutes of walking, reach HAIKA Coffee for a caffeine fix and a bite of sweets.
There's lots of coffee spots on Hong Kong Island, but not one that pulls off an 'outdoor' concept as good as HAIKA Coffee does. If you happen to be on a trip to Cheung Chau, and want to sit outside for a breeze — be sure to check this one out!
This coffee shop has an outdoor hiking / camping vibe using camping furniture, cutlery, and plants to brighten up the atmosphere. There are both indoor & outdoor seats, but we sat outside to enjoy the view and light breeze of Cheung Chau.

The iced americano ($36HKD) had fruity notes and a clean aftertaste with a pleasant sweetness lingering in the mouth. The Basque cheesecake was super yummy — from the caramel notes of the crisp outer layer to the soft texture inside. The flavor is well-balanced — try a bite with the cream for an extra soft texture and kick of sweetness! I'd definitely return for the cake + coffee pairing.
My favorite part of this café is the level of detail put into the shop's interior and accessories. Just look at the folding fork, metal straw & plate, and leather coaster...!
Simply sitting on a camping chair gazing at a pier packed with small boats makes you feel like you've traveled far from typical Hong Kong.
New to Cheung Chau? Don't worry it's super easy to find the coffee shop.
Walk left when you leave Cheung Chau Pier, and within 3-5 minutes, you will see a shop with camping chairs & parasols out in front. Have fun exploring!
